What is ITAS?

Established in 1953, the InterAmerican Travel Agents Society (ITAS) is the largest and oldest association of African-American owned and operated travel agencies in the world. With over 300 members in the United States and abroad ITAS has a major hold on burgeoning travel market.

In addition to travel agencies the ITAS, membership also consist of individuals and companies engaged in travel related businesses such as: airlines, cruise lines, bus and train operators, meeting planners Convention and Visitors Bureaus and tourist offices.


- To unite all minority owned travel agencies and travel professionals
operating in the United States and abroad for the common good

- To promote cooperative travel programs within the ITAS membership that will
provide their clientele the best possible travel value for their dollars

- To promote and market to the public the existence of minority travel
agencies

- To establish and maintain among its member a firm set of ethics in the
operation of their agencies

- To combat prejudices in all forms found within the travel industry

- To provide continual networking and mentoring opportunities

- To be an advocate and continued effective voice on national and local issues
affecting travel agents

- Create public trust and use of minority travel agencies.

- To provide contracting information on corporate, military and government
travel management services
